Traffic and Parking

Traffic doesn't just mean "cars."  It includes public transit, cyclists, and pedestrians, too.  Here is a concept from 8-80cities.org that could be applied to traffic planning in St. John's:

Complete Streets

"All streets should be designed, built, operated, and maintained in a way that takes into consideration the needs of all users: pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists. Safe access must be ensured for all users, regardless of age or physical ability."

I think there is a lot of room for improvement for sure. I would also like to say that the City of St. John's needs to get with the program on snow removal, particularly on main arteries. They wait until after the snow (causing accidents all over the place) and they never plow to the curb which reduces the lane by half, causing more accidents and trecherous road conditions. Thanks!

What do you think?
